Well Dan if I had to critique this then I would suggest the following. The characters are clearly drawn "as always =) " but the composition is a pushed together. The foreground character is fine where he is. The middle and background characters are interfering with each other. You could a few ways with this.

First would be to move the mid-ground character a bit higher and the the right a bit. That would clear up the background character face so it is more visible to the viewer.

My second thought would be to again move the mid-ground character bit higher and the the right, but this time change the positioning of the background character so both hands are on the page and that would also leave room again to clearly show the background characters face. In doing that, you would then use up some of that white on the top left and bottom right of the page. It may also prove to be a bit more dynamic.

Just my 2 cents. Great work none the less.

Dan. Dan. Dan. There's no way to critique your work without comin out 'nitpicky'. You're so adept in your animated style it's sickening. But if I were to be completely 'anal', I would only bring the characters more to the foreground to accentuate the energy of the scene & I would place the 'gorilla spirit/ability' (or whatever you call the effect) above animal man or encompassing him instead of under him to show that animal man is 'under' the influence of that particular power. The way it's depicted here it looks like the power is kinda lagging behind with animal man's foot in his eye.
Just my 2¢, friend. Like I said..."Nit-picky!"

I'm agreeing with San! My only gripe is why isn't this done in color?!! ;-)

Is that Animal Man? I'm not too familiar with DC characters. >.>

It's excellently done. The only problems I can see are that the gorilla's left hand is left out (not something you could really fix though, so it's more than forgivable) and the top character's hair. You can see a line where his hair was originally going to go further back, and to be honest, it kinda looks like the hair SHOULD be like that. However, it could just be that the line is throwing off my judgment :)

Is that Animal Man? I'm not as familiar with D.C. as I am with Marvel.

Animal Man and the gorilla look a little odd when viewed together, unless you are trying to show animal man using gorilla powers. The composition makes it look like Animal Man is standing on the Gorilla's face. Excellent drawing skill.

I gotta' go with San also.... nothing for me to crit either because this piece is all kinds of AWESOMELY solid (like all your stuff is).
Keep it up Dan!
BTW: I'm thinking about changing my name to "Dan"
... all the "Dan's" seem to have all the talent... there's you, Dan Campos, Dan Panosian, Dan "SAN" Sanchez (his 1st name is really Steve, but he got skillz), Dan Rather ... OK, NOT Dan Rather... but you get my point.

This is a very dynamic action shot. I realy like the background image. It leaps out at you without overpowering the character in the front. I think that this will look great once it is colored. I also think it would look good in bw.

Say hi to me. . .. do eeeet
:iconrobisher:
Its a good start, but I think a more engaging pose could be used. I like the idea of having Animal Man leap to pounce like his Gorilla aura is positioned, but it falls flat because the character in the foreground is standing there in kind of a static way. Like it kills the momentum you were trying to achieve. What I really love, and there's alot of potential for this, is the Gorilla in the background and his arms/hands outstretched. There's alot of good ways to approach that and extreme foreshortening could make this piece come more alive. An example of this can be found in Marvel's "World War Hulk (Issue 1)", which was drawn by John Romita Jr.––look for the splash page where The Hulk is about to pounce on Black Bolt and say "I wanna hear you scream!"
